The Wytches have given us a second taster from their upcoming EP “Thunder Lizard’s Reprieve“, which will be released via Scion A/V. The four-track collection will be the trio’s first new material since the success of their debut LP Annabel Dream Reader, which landed last year on Heavenly Recordings. Scion AV and the Wytches set for release on August 19, 2015. Following last week’s buzzy “Wasteybois,” let yourself mellow out with the gloomy “If Not For Money,” now available for streaming and free download. On it, the Brighton-based trio offers a nostalgic track that strips itself down to guitar, drums, a mournful keyboard, and the romantically weary voice of lead-singer Kristian Bell. Because summertime isn’t all smiles and sunshine.
This time around, the band are demonstrating a softer, more 60s-style psych sound on ‘If Not For Money’, which was rarely present on the album. What’s more, the song couldn’t be further from the ferocious first snippet from the EP ‘Wasteybois’,
Fans will no doubt also be delighted to know that Scion A/V have made ‘If Not For Money’ available as a free download.
