Artist: Shana Cleveland & The Sandcastles from the album  Oh Man, Cover The Ground
and the leading track  Holy Rollers on Label: Suicide Squeeze Records
True, much of the album was recorded a few years ago, but Cleveland has been quite busy in her main gig as singer/guitarist for Seattle garage mystics, La Luz. So on a break, she polished up this solo debut, a gorgeous cycle of folky, Cat em-Power’d, dusk time wistfulness. Shana Cleveland is a  musician, artist, and writer living in Seattle and hitting the road as often as I can. My current involvement in bands are La Luz and Shana Cleveland and the Sandcastles. My very short stories have appeared in places like: Black Clock, the Columbia Poetry Review, Court Green, and Vice. I have made artwork for the Believer and my paintings have been featured in Yeti Magazine, “Obscure Giants of Acoustic Guitar” (a deck of trading cards I painted for the Tompkins Square Record label), and on some T-shirts. I am happy to make portraits, illustrations, or posters on commission—get in touch!
