Billy himself mentioned on his Twitter or Facebook that it was a song particularly close to his heart, and that comes across in a moving, story-telling style that he exudes with his songwriting. “You were never just my girlfriend, a chapter in my life, and you made me who I am today..” he lulls beautifully at one point. There really is little more to add about Billy Lockett. To us, he’s already proven himself as one of the country’s finest songwriters, and with every new track he seems to make a bigger leap.
