The legendary Bob Seger’s releases his 18th studio album, recorded in Nashville and Detroit, I Knew You When.
The new set features Seger‘s tribute to Lou Reed, a rockin’ cover of Reed’s “Busload of Faith”. Seger also includes tributes to his friend Glenn Frey, in the heartfelt self-penned “Glenn Song”, and to Leonard Cohen with a timely cover of Cohen’s “Democracy”. Seger dedicates the album to the memory of Glenn Frey.
I Knew You When also features the reflective title track, uptempo rockers “The Highway”, “Runaway Train”, and “Blue Ridge”, an ode to the history and beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, and the passionate guitar driven ballad, “I’ll Remember You”.

Next month Bob Seger releases a new album  “I Knew You When” is scheduled to arrive November 17th in stores, the veteran rocker has revealed some of the details surrounding the set.

It marks Seger’s 18th studio release — and arrives on the 49th year of his long-standing association with Capitol Records, making him the longest-tenured solo artist in the label’s history. According to the press release announcing the milestone, Seger’s discography now includes 13 platinum and seven multi-platinum sales awards, as well as a diamond certification for selling 10 million copies of his Greatest Hits LP. I Knew You When which follows the 2014 release of Seger’s most recent collection of new material,

“I Knew You When” collects a blend of covers and originals, as well as material that was earlier part of the trove of recordings Seger assembled for Ride Out. The sessions clearly found him in a reflective state of mind with respect to the spate of classic rockers we’ve lost over the last several years; the record’s first single, “Busload of Faith,” is a Lou Reed cover, and a tribute to Seger’s longtime friend Glenn Frey closes out the deluxe edition of the LP — which is dedicated to the Eagles co-founder’s memory.
