I just really love this record. After numerous EPs, splits, and random DIY recordings, Mumblr bares it all on their first full-length album.

“Full of Snakes” is a phrase drummer Scott Stitzer made up to describe how he felt after a night of hard drinking, but when you hear the subjects lead singer Nick Morrison tackles throughout the album, it could easily describe the struggles, inner demons, anxieties, fears, and confused emotions coiling through his mind while transitioning from youth to adulthood. Every song is a cathartic release of emotion as Morrison reflects on the loss of innocence, race, relationships, self-esteem, and the fight against growing up. It’s a classic but is set apart by Morrison’s unique point of view.
The album also finds Mumblr coming of age as a band. Ian Amidon (guitar), Sean Reilly (bass), and Scott Stitzer (drums) match Morrison’s depth and maturity as singer-songwriter with their most powerful sounding recordings to date. On Full of Snakes, Mumblr’s fuzz-feuled guitars have even more bite and strength, each chord rumbling strong with aftershocks while Stitzer attacks the drums with passion and precision and Reilly subtly yet surely holds it steady.
