This documentary spans the band’s entire career and includes government surveillance footage. The film itself is fantastic. It premiered in 2002 and was hailed by critics. In 2007, MC5 guitarist, Wayne Kramer filed a lawsuit because he was under the assumption that he would be the film’s musical director. The film was to come out on DVD soon after but, due to the lawsuit, that never happened [to the best of my knowledge]. So the filmmakers started a GoFundMe to try to fund the DVD release. Fortunately, you can find bootleg copies… this film is a must-watch for any fans of the MC5 or rock and roll.
