US outfit return with another bold and pulsing slice of Tarantino-esque blues-rock Bad Flamingo are definitely bad. On their track “Open the Gates” they dispense their, now, signature sound: a sultry serenading cocktail of spaghetti western, pop noir, kitsch and ? Open the Gates in particular, with the feral bongos, strident sort of surf bomb guitar downbeats and slow burn sensuality (with double entendres littering the sun drenched landscape) feels almost Grind House 70’s in tone. I told them to stop it, stop sending me these amazing escapist pop creations but they refuse and now… now, I have developed a serious mask fetish. Thanks Bad Flamingo… thanks a lot! Yes, these two are bad alright (bullwhip snap in the background).
Illusive duo Bad Flamingo return with their new single Dandy Little Day. The masked cowboy singers play noire americana in the style of Black Honey. Never photographed without their masks, their identities remain a secret. These two might as well have emerged from an old Zorro movie or straight out of Westworld.
