
The classic blues track “Statesboro Blues” was originally written by Blind Willie McTell in 1928. Taj Mahal recorded his adaptation of the song in 1968. His version inspired the Allman Brothers Band to record their version which is ranked number nine on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time.” At “Skyville Live” we were lucky enough to have Taj Mahal, Gregg Allman and Chris Stapleton perform this stunning once-in-a-lifetime version of the classic song!.

“Walkin’ Blues” is a blues standard written and recorded by American Delta blues musician Son House in 1930. Although unissued at the time, it was part of House’s repertoire and other musicians, including Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, adapted the song and recorded their own versions.
