The Love Language are here with a groovy new track to soundtrack your spring, and just in time for their upcoming North America tour alongside labelmates Teenage Fanclub.
Aptly titled “Bees,” the power-pop track is teeming with fuzzed-out goodness optimally crafted for shaking the winter from your bones. “For about a week or so last December, I tried to do a song-a-day exercise,” explains bandleader Stuart McLamb in a statement. “Some were ok, some were really bad, but this one stood out.”
McLamb also cites “listening to a lot of fuzzy pop/punk stuff (Exploding Hearts, Buzzcocks, Wire, Strokes, GBV, etc.)” as an influence for the track, something that comes through in the song’s grunge-laden, yet vibrant and classically sunny sensibility.
The Love Language’s latest album “Baby Grand” is out now.
