Swedish Singer Songwriter Natali Felicia has released her double single “Run Like the River” / “This Summer is Cruel” this past spring. And so we were beyond excited at the news of a new track from the ethereal Stockholm songstress (who happens to be the daughter of renowned Swedish actor Kjell Bergqvist and fashion icon Yvonne Ryding.)
As it happens, “Say It” only makes us love her more. At once both sylvan and celestial, as serene as a forest, as sweeping as the Heavens, the song mixes Depeche Mode synth atmospherics, thundering drums and Felicia’s haunted, impassioned vocals. Indeed, the lyrics are something of a call to arms, as she fiercely proclaims, “Standing here we won’t run away / Standing here we say it louder than we’ve done before.”
“‘Say It’ is simply a song about people uniting to be stronger together,” she explains. “I wanted to paint a vision of people joining forces, ready to speak up and fight together – as we are and will always be stronger together.”
Considering the current state of just about everything, her timing couldn’t be more urgent.
