
The Lumineers, like Mumford And Sons, have picked up a pretty bad reputation over the years as tweed-wearing, banjo-wielding hipsters with little to no musical depth. “Angela,” I think, helps to dispel such a misconception. The acoustic ballad, from the album Cleopatra, is a gobsmackingly beautiful piece of songwriting from the Denver band. The emotional video is worth a watch, too, acting as a prequel-of-sorts to their previous visual for “Cleopatra.”
