SAFIA
Electronic three-piece from Sydney, SAFIA, are a Little Indie favourite and we personally can’t wait to see and hear them in the flesh. Releasing their ‘Embracing Me’ EP in March, the band have already reached top billing in their homeland, including supporting Lorde on her Australian headline tour and a sell-out 23-date headline tour across the country, as well as accruing over 6 million Soundcloud streams.
THE BIG MOON
One of the highlights at the recent Great Escape festival in Brighton, the four London girls have been steadily racking up praise through their tight harmonies and guitar interplay since their debut single ‘Sucker’ a year ago. Signed to Fiction Records a few months ago, they released the joyfully exuberant ‘Cupid’ in May.
HAUS
North London five-piece led by frontman Ashley Mulimba, HAUS combine funky vibes with soul/alt-rock, hip-hop and electronic elements. New release ‘Two Minds’ came out last month, following their emergence last year with ‘Haze’ and ‘Blinded.’ Expect a vibrant, energetic party time set from these guys.
SHURA
23-year-old Aleksandra Denton is a critics’ favourite as well as having built a strong fanbase with her blend of hip-hop, 90s RnB and electro pop. With her debut album, ‘Nothing’s Real’, out in July, expect her star to rise even higher over the next 12 months.
HIDDEN CHARMS
Pulling out a massive track in newest single ‘Cannonball’, the London-based quartet followed 2015’s ‘Love You Cause You’re There’, though with a change of direction, encompassing psych/alt-blues. Big riffs, big live presentation style. A band definitely on the road to breaking.
