As anyone who’s seen Gengahr will attest, their guitarist John Victor is something of a virtuoso at his instrument He also posses this amazing looking guitar. They first burst onto the scene about six months ago with ‘Fill My Gums With Blood’, a creeping killer of a track that presented them as a more playful Alt J – four kids with a keen eye for melody and a clean, non-pushy sound. It was great, but debut single ‘Powder’ is better. Much harder than before, it pushes Victor to the forefront, with the entire track built around his Jonny Greenwood-esque lashings. It came out at the end of last year and now the band are supporting Royal Blood on their current UK tour the record was released last October through Transgressive Records
