After the recent success that The Slow Readers Club had with last single ‘Start Again’, gaining plays on BBC 6 Music and the band being hailed as Peter Hook’s favourite band . The Slow Readers Club are back, this time with introspective ballad‘Don’t Mind’. ‘Don’t Mind’ is a lament to a dying relationship, it’s about one not being able to move on while the other has already thrown in the towel. A sense of abandonment and sorrow echoes throughout

Sparse instrumentation allows for the track to breathe and for the stark reality of the lyricism to hit hard. It’s a deeply powerful song sonically and lyrically, something of which The Slow Readers Club thrive on. The gentle moving rhythm acts as the track’s beating heart, gliding effortlessly between a dark underlying presence and the tender remnants of their love.

‘Don’t Mind’ is another accomplished track from the Manchester band, further making us question why aren’t they a well-known name by now? It’s ludicrous that they are still getting overlooked by the majority of the UK public, but for us they are always in our hearts and will continue to be. Next up is album no. 2, which the band promises will be released around November time.
