The band often appeared on TV shows, but usually for live or mimed performances. ORTF decided to film the band for “Made in England,” a show about English music acts that also included The Merseys. The Who were the focus of the second half of the show
The show is edited to feel almost like a live event, switching between clips of the band and a French DJ in a TV studio shouting at monitors. However, according to Matt Kent and Andy Neill, the trip occurred over two days, on 8th and 9th September. Roger, John and Keith are shown leaving New Action offices in London, on their way to a show in Felixstowe, on the coast. They depart in a Bentley driven by “Wiggy” Wolff. Pete  appears to arrive separately.
Luckily, The Who’s friend, photographer Chris Morphet, also went with them, based on the images available in the Getty archive. The final TV show doesn’t include what happened between the drive from London and the live show. But Morphet’s photos do. And while the TV footage is in black and white,
