Another band on the long list of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition is MOATS.
Replicating a delectable arrangement of duelling male/female vocals comparable to a slightly tenacious Of Monsters and Men, MOATS have stirred a nation of bloggers with their exhilarating release ‘Toothache’.
Fuelled by hypnotic guitar lines reminiscent to Foals and resonating bass rhythms similar to The XX, what appears as another refreshingly buoyant indie melody begins to turn into an ejection of purified determination. As front man Matt expels with vengeance “You’re not real, your toothache” (manipulating the accusation of “too fake” into a medical condition), his gravelly execution becomes sweetly answered by a series of angelic female tones.
